My children and I took up Tae Kwon-Do a year ago (for me it's my third time, as I previously practised TKD as a kid and after university), and it's really helped me through a very tough year. In that time, we've progressed through four gradings and we decided to enter our first competition - the TAGB English Championships. (There were probably more sensible ones to choose first before going straight in at national level...!) We trained quite hard for it - 3-4 times per week at our fantastic club in Chelmsford - and my daughter and I both ended up winning silver medals.My son scored his first points in tag team sparring, which is great as he's so young. My daughter's now a runner-up English Champion for team patterns (despite also being quite young), and I'm the runner-up English Champion for Green Belt Welterweight sparring. So lucky to have such a fab club, with lots of coaching and sparring practice from our instructor, Master Nina Budd, and all the Black Belts in our class.Now we're preparing for our next grading (in a couple of weeks), and we'll hopefully enter the TAGB Welsh Championships in May. How are you finding Twitter at the mo? I'm trying to tweet / retweet less about politics (politics winds me up, but feels wrong not to amplify concerns about the way the UK is run). Thought I'd tweet more about music again and get back to being more creative - we'll see I guess!
